Creekside Remodel

This remodel is located in the heart of Spearfish. This home has an imposing presence at the curb, but the exterior screamed for some attention. The team imagined a clever selection of external finishes and physical upgrades to enhance this feature. The mix of palettes selected for the home include gun metal and granite hues resulting in a clean presentation.
Phase I of this project started by reframing the garage door openings to give the homeowners the ability to store their boat and SUVs with roof racks. The new woodgrain garage doors also incorporated a row of skylights on the top to provide natural lighting while maintaining privacy. The front door followed a similar theme with woodgrains and full skylights on both sides to add natural lighting to the home.
Every window in the home was replaced and trim added around them to add contrast and interest. The exterior light fixtures were updated to modern styles. Soffit lighting was added along the side of the garage transforming a parking area that was unusable at night into a functional area. The exterior lighting upgrades included Smart Home Technology giving the occupants peace of mind regarding additional security and ease of control. The technology allows the lighting to be controlled via voice or app. Additionally, the automatically lighting turns on/off at certain times and those times automatically adjust based on sunset.
New siding was installed and board and batten gable accents were incorporated. A decorative trim board was used to break up the wall and add character. Stone wainscotting compliments the look with additional texture and character. A new false dormer with two windows breaks completes the picture and maximizes curb appeal.
Internally, the spacious 3-season room received rustic barnwood panelling and dimmable Edison string lights. The result was a huge uplift in warmth and character for the room.
